One CRAZY Year Later.....
This is about to be a lengthy, random and interesting post that I really have no idea going into this what I am even going to be saying so, just a warning! I cannot believe that I have finally hit the point where I have been posting on Instagram for a year on my account. For those of you that have been with me for a long time you know that I had another instagram that I had since the spring of last year that unfortunately got hacked in December by some boys in my grade and to be honest when that happened I didn't think I was going to continue. The night it got hacked for the first time I remember laying in my bed and just asking why me why do they hate me? Was it because I sat alone in my room and talked to my video camera? I deleted everything I had ever posted and went through the following week feeling very empty. I look back at that time in my life and I laugh now because I cannot believe I let high school boys get into my head. But everyday I am reminded of how happy blogging has made me. And I am so happy that I did choose to continue. I started out posting on Instagram as much as two times a day on my other account which was originally Quirky and Classy or if you've been following me for a really long time you would know me as Pearls and Whales....its crazy how things have changed. I have finally established everything as ADashofKait and I love it so much. ADashof Kait stands for a little sprinkle of everything and I think that my life does contain a little bit of everything from being able to relate with all sorts of people to working out to going out with friends and having a good time! I try to vary my posts on the blog to get the attention of every type of reader I have. Once I had decided to recreate another instagram I decided that a blog would also be totally appropriate to begin and following that I even posted a few mediocre Youtube videos, but I think the biggest thing that I tell myself is that everybody has to start from somewhere and build themselves up from there. I have been able to meet some of my best friends through blogging and I also have been able to learn about myself and I highly encourage anyone who has any interest in starting a blog to do it. It is so rewarding to be able to look back on what you were talking about a few months ago and compare it to what you are thinking now and no matter what there are people that are reading what you are posting and I think that is one of the most rewarding thoughts. 3000 people have looked at my blog at one point or another. That is so cool to me, that people actually have taken the time to read what I have to say and the feeling is just unreal.
I know that I am not the most consistent person when it comes to blogging or posting on social media, and I know I have said that I have been busy a lot but I am done making excuses. Blogging is something I truly have fallen in love with. My passion for clothes and fashion drives me more and more everyday to strive to achieve all my dreams big or small. I think that clothes give you an idea about what a person is like and the way that people can relate themselves just thought having a similar taste is so cool to me. I do plan on going into the fashion world when I get older and my dad always tells me that you have to get your foot in the door and I think that blogging has given me a chance to meet people and do exactly what he said, get my foot in the door. I know that I will continue blogging for many years to come as long as I have the support of the people who have encouraged me from day one. I am excited to see where blogging takes me in life.
Once again I cannot say this enough. If you want to do something. DO IT. Don't worry about what other people will think, I can agree with you that I was extremely nervous when I found out that people from my school actually followed me and read my posts. But I have realized that people are supportive of me and its cool for them to see someone going for what they want. And now, some of those people that follow me from school are some of my biggest readers! Never be afraid of who you are or who you want to be. If people are your friends they will support you through anything that you put your heart into.
If you need help with anything from making a blog name, to convincing yourself to blog contact me!!! I would love to help anyone accomplish their dreams!!
I love you all-
Thanks for one of the best years
I hope you enjoy some of my throwback pictures and then a recent picture!!!

Exam Preparation
Tis the season of warm weather, swimming pools opening....and exams. I know that personally however, that exams mean that I am days away from being out of school and if that doesn't motivate you then I don't know what else will. My first exams isn't until May 29th but there is no such thing as over preparing for things like exams. So today I will be sharing my top seven tips for how to prepare for exams!!
- Check your exam schedule: Before you go into exams know which exams you have on certain days and make sure you know what class rooms you will be taking you exam in so you avoid running around your school looking for your classroom.
- Focus on 3: For me personally I can think of three exams that will be the ones that I need to study more for than my other exams. Because of that I tend to make sure that I study for those more than my other exams making sure that I can get the best grades possible on my exams.
- FLASHCARDS: I can truthfully say that come exam time I go through around 500 flashcards. Especially for foreign languages. I will simply write the Spanish word on one side and the English form on the other side. This helps me a lot because I can mix up the words for different chapters and make sure that I actually can memorize them.
- Healthy Snacks: During exam week last year I learned that stress eating is a real thing. Stop grabbing the chips and instead grab some fruit like blueberries! Did you know that eating blueberries actually helps to increase your brain power?! Yeah talk about food for thought...*haha I am funny* Some other healthy snack options that also increase brain power are: avocado, broccoli, nuts, chia seeds, and even dark chocolate!
- Study and take breaks: It is so much easier to study for a little and then relieve yourself because you are able to re-focus yourself because I know that if I do something for a long time I can start to get distracted so by taking a break you are allowing your brain a nice little break so it can take in all the information
- Music: Music personally is a huge part of my life and even when I study I like to have some sort of music playing. IF you have a Spotify you can search study playlists and you can find lots of music that has no words and is very calming and quiet.
- Give yourself a quiet workspace: In my house it is almost always loud so a lot of times I will drive to my local Starbucks or even a Panera and buckle down and study....another bonus is that you can get a yummy drink/snack depending on where you are!! Just wherever you are just make sure its quiet and you will be able to get work done!
I think that is it for right now! If you think of anything else leave it in the comments below! Happy Friday and good luck studying!

Out and About: Teller's of Hyde Park
Salutations! I hope everyone had a totally amazing weekend, I spent the majority of my weekend at lifeguard training but Saturday night I got to go out with one of my gal pals for a night of great food and adorable scenery! I headed off to Teller's and when I got there I didn't know what to expect really, I had never been there before so I first off had no idea what to even order which totally stressed me out but I ended up ordering the Romano Burger with fries. OH MY LAWWDDY. SO GOOD! I wasn't expecting it to be so good but boy it was. I recommend Teller's to anyone who is ever in the Cincinnati/ Hyde Park area. So good. A cool little fact about Teller's is that its actually located in the old Hyde Park Savings and Loan building so it was really cool to see, it even had a few safes as doors throughout the location! So my outfit for the evening was this skirt I had purchased off of Sheinside, black tank top from an unknown boutique (sorry, I am bad with names of boutiques..) neon pink flats from the gap and then a Kate Spade bangle and a Kate Spade necklace. It was perfect weather out and this outfit was perfect. I love going out and dressing up and I was so happy to be out and about! I hope you all have an amazing week!!

Weekly Review!
Howdy ya'll!
Long time no talk! Lots of stuff has been going on here in my life so it has been awhile since I have last posted. If you haven't already noticed the blog is looking oh so pretty and I couldn't be more excited! I couldn't do it without my lovely new friend Sarah from WittyYoungThing! You should all check out her blog for me!! Anyways so I did this post a few weeks ago for the first time and I just really liked the structure of it and I got good feedback from you guys, so I will be continuing this weekly post! So once again life took me for quite a spin this past week after recovering from my schools prom which I ended up getting asked to less than a week before the dance itself so you could say stressful! I am only a sophomore so I went with a junior to prom and it was so much fun! My dress was a dark purple color and it was long and I was just so obsessed with it. I had so so much fun and I am so looking forward to my junior and senior prom these next two years. The music was great and the pictures ended up looking amazing so I will attach some pictures from that amazing night!
Along with prom, I have been working on wrapping up my sophomore year of high school and boy is that crazy to think about. Time truly flies and everyone needs to make sure that they are taking advantage of everything whether you're a senior or freshman, just enjoy the moments because I guarantee you that you will miss it. So with finishing up school always means lots of tests and exams and papers and you know all the stuff that pretty much makes you hate school...."just push through it" I keep telling myself, "You're almost there" I am so excited for summer which I am sure just about everyone else could agree with me on that statement. I also got hired to work at a pool nearby this summer as a lifeguard which mean PAYCHECKS WHICH MEANS SHOPPING WHICH MEANS HAPPY HAPPY KAIT! Along with getting a job I also got my license which is super crazy that I can just go to the grocery store or Target whenever I want....which doesn't help my bank account whatsoever but, I mean I totally needed another pack of Sharpie pens....Anyway, so since I am 16 and I don't have a job at the moment the whole showing you what I bought portion of this weekly update will unfortunately will be retired until I actually have money to spend on exciting things. I really haven't been doing anything very exciting this week so this post is probably slightly boring and lengthy but I want to get back into a habit of posting at least once a week! In addition to my school day I also decided to take on a new type of project. Relay for Life! Holy cow, I have never felt so happy about being able to give back to my community. I can honestly say that it is one of the best expirences I have ever had. Being able to give back is just the greatest feeling and knowing that the hard work I am putting in is helping so many people. I think I will be doing a whole post after the event about what it is and you can get involved and show lots of pictures of the event itself. Super excited to see what the rest of my sophomore year has in store for me! You guys make me so happy and I am so happy that so many of you come back week to week just to read about my life and I couldn't be more grateful. My final little blurb in this post will be that ADashOfKait turns a year old on May 10th and I just can't contain my excitement for everything I have in store for you all! Including two upcoming giveaways!! I wouldn't be here without yalls support and I cant thank you enough! This is been such an exciting year and I can't wait to see what blogging and youtubing holds for my future!!
so much love!!

A WEEK IN REVIEW
Good Morning lovely followers and Happy Sunday-
I am currently on my spring break and enjoying this week in beautiful Hilton Head, South Carolina! For todays post I will be talking about my week and what I did this week, what I bought and thinks I liked and I will for sure be attempting to do this post once a week meaning that I will now by trying to post two times a week! Okay so this week for me was only a three day week! On Monday and Tuesday I was at my schools FBLA state leadership conference where we ended up placing first in our category which qualified us for nationals in Chicago this summer! SO when I got back from that it was already Wednesday and I had received a package in the mail with my order for my favorite website (pikoshirts.com) I am obsessed with PIKO tops so for spring break I had ordered myself a PIKO dress! I ended up getting it for around $21! You can find all sorts of PIKO tops on here too. They have the long sleeved, 3/4 sleeves, short sleeves, v-necks, boatnecks, & all different colors and they are all reasonably priced! So I highly recommend checking this site out!
So when I got back on Wednesday I had to start packing for spring break! I packed a lot of stuff and I am sure that you guys can understand the serious problem of being an overpacker. I can't help it I just always bring more than I would ever need. I would include a list of things I packed but I feel that posting packing lists for spring break is kind of irrelevant now because most people are already on their spring break! So I will skip over that for right now. While on my business trip I had bought a lot of stuff at Target before I left including knee high socks covered in pineapples and then dried strawberries. First off the socks were so stinkin' cute and myself like the rest of the blogger world are currently obsessed with the pineapple fad that seems to be going on so why not start the collection of pineapple items with some super cute high socks. THEN I went to the health food aisle and I saw dried strawberries. WHERE HAVE THEY BEEN ALL MY LIFE?! Seriously love love love dried strawberries. They are so tasty and not to mention they are only 110 calories for the ENTIRE BAG! So good for you and so yummy. I had a pretty dull week filled with lots of school work and preparation for spring break after I got home so there really isn't much more to talk about in this weeks review! I hope you all had a good week and I hope that for those of you also on spring break that you are having a wonderful week and enjoy lots of quality time with your families!
Until next time,
XOXO
