SPRING CRUSHES

Hey yall!! Sorry its been awhile since I last posted I have been swamped with school functions and meetings and practices but my schedule will be clearing up more here in the next few months so that means more posts!! YAY! Okay so today in Ohio it was really nice here and it got me thinking about spring because while it may only be January I believe that spring starts in March meaning only a few more weeks till my definition of spring! I am so looking forward to this spring season. Spring break, our schools semi-formal and just in general the warmer weather which means brighter colors are more involved in my wardrobe. I have comprised a list of 10 things that I plan on purchasing this spring or I would be wishing to purchase or I would just really loveeee to have this spring. I have everything from makeup to shoes, to clothes on my list so you can all get some ideas of what I will be sporting this spring!

  1. Kendra Scott Danielle Earrings in Iridescent Tangerine: I have been obsessed with Kendra Scott jewelry since I discovered it on Pinterest about a year back! I have been wanting to buy a pair so badly and I feel like now with spring rolling around it's finally time to make the splurge! I feel that they are perfect paired with a dress or skirt and they add a little pop of color to any outfit!

2. Essie's Bikini So Teeny: This color just wraps up spring in one bottle. Its that perfect shade of periwinkle blue and its just the perfect pastel but its more of a brighter pastel that could go into summer also! I think this nail color will be very popular along with other pastels!

3. I am currently on the hunt for an awesome pair of just brown wedges. I feel that wedges are very casual but they add something to whatever you are wearing to give it a dressy feel. I think that a brown pair would be very versatile and I see the Steve Madden Banngle wedges but I also am only 16 and I don't have enough money to spend that much on a pair of shoes. I always see some cute ones on Red Dress Boutique and also ShopHopes so I will for sure be on the look out for those this spring!

4. Victoria's Secret- The Getaway Halter: Okay so spring also means spring break and every year since I was a little one me and my family travel down to Hilton Head, South Carolina for a week! I have found this suit on Victoria's Secret website and I am pretty much in love! I love the scallop detail it has on it and its also very simple and it looks very comfortable. I like the black one a lot because you can match the top with so many different colored bottoms!

5. Colored Denim: Okay I know that this was a trend of the past and people have sort of moved on from it but I still am loving it for this spring! I live in Ohio so our springs can be very...temperamental lets just say. One day it will be 45 and windy and other days it will be 70 and sunny. So shorts aren't always the best choice for the weather here so colored denim will be one of the items I will be purchasing. Specifically I have my eyes set on the Gap's white skinny jeans I think they would be very cute with a pair of sandals or some cute flats!

6. Kate Spade Eat Cake for Breakfast Tote: I have been obsessed with this tote bag for ages and not only would this be perfect for spring but year round. In the spring I go out a lot more because when the weather gets warmer there is typically more to do and I think it would be perfect to take with me everywhere this spring!!

7. OCC Lip Tar in Pink Champagne: Okay so I have seen this stuff all over YouTube and I actually love it so much I already have one in the true balanced red color but I think this pink would be the perfect shade for the spring. I love to add a fun lip color when going out with my girls and I just think it would be an awesome addition to my makeup collection!

8. Lulu Lemon Crop Yoga Pants: Okay yes I am in fact a white girl who wishes to own a pair of Lulu Lemon pants. BUT. I actually do go to my gym at least 2 times a week as of right now and that number is planning on growing here as soon as my schools swim season wraps up. I think these pants are amazing quality I have tried them on in store and I just think that the material is thick and good to work out in and for Zumba classes! I also am a cheerleader and I really don't' like practicing in shorts so a good pair of cropped yogas make things a whole lot easier! SO I can justify spending the $80 on them because I know I can get a whole lot of use out of them!

9. JCrew Scalloped Dress in Navy: I literally see this dress four times a day whether it is on Pinterest or Instagram or Tumblr. I think that it is the perfect dress! I really like the length of this dress and I think it would be good for my upcoming spring formal, my cousins wedding, and also for graduation parties and other functions to come in the next few months. The length is perfect, not too long and not too short and I think that it can be dressed up or down!

10. Southern Shirts Boardwalk V-Neck Jersey in Pink Blossom: As I said earlier Ohio's weather in the spring can be very unpredictable. I own 4 spirit jerseys and I plan on buying more because ya girl here loves her spirit jerseys! I really like the vneck style because I don't own one yet and I think that it gives more of a warmer-weather feel to it because they aren't as thick as the other ones so they would be perfect for the spring!!

Okay well I really hope you guys enjoyed reading about my top ten wishes for spring I hope you all have a wonderful Martin Luther King day tomorrow!!! I know I will be watching some Gossip Girl and eating some waffles!!

Until next time,
XOXO,
Kaitlyn

HOW TO KICK YOUR SECOND SEMESTER OFF THE RIGHT WAY!

The worst feeling is probably going back to school after an amazing break and feeling unprepared and stressed out! Lets eliminate those things and make this semester the best! I have wrote up a little list of tips and tricks that I will be trying this semester to keep me motivated and on task! Okay so the number one thing I can say is please, GET ENOUGH SLEEP! Goodness gracious I cannot stress enough how important it is to get enough sleep at night because waking up at 6:00am is already hard enough and if you aren't getting enough sleep you are going to be in (literally) for a rude awakening. Along with getting enough sleep I know how hectic mornings can be but eating breakfast is going to help wake you up and fuel you for the day, I am not going to sit here and tell you that I sit down and actually eat breakfast everyday but on the days I can't I will always remember to pack my self a yogurt or a little bag of cereal or even a bagel; just a little something to keep me tied over until my lunch.

Moving onto some more organizational tips and tricks....Planners. That is the BIGGEST thing that I can say that will help you to keep organized. Having due dates and plans and other events written down is honestly so helpful. I have the Lilly Pulitzer Agenda in the pattern "Hot Spot" and I love it so much and its perfect for organizing dates and times and homework! I like to spend my Sunday afternoons writing in the stuff that I have to do that week and just making sure I have time to do my homework after school stuff like sports practices & meetings for clubs. Before I start my homework and things I have to do for that night I always make a sticky note to-do list of what I need to get accomplished that night. And of course I love to buy the neon color sticky notes because they are fun to look and and so pretty. To write on those sticky notes I love using Sharpie pens just because they write so smoothly and look awesome and they don't bleed!

Okay 2015 will be the year of no procrastination. OKAY LETS DO IT! I have learned my lesson way to many times to not wait until the last minutes to do things. It is so beneficial because you are getting your work done on time and you might end up gaining more free time from getting things done ahead of time and getting to spend time doing things you enjoy doing (such as blogging, Youtubing, Instagraming) So now that we have covered a lot of what I wanted t say I think I will be wrapping up this post and I hope you all are having a good start off to your semester and you try some of these tips in the upcoming months!

XOXO-

2014: A YEAR IN REVIEW

Seems like just yesterday I was writing my resolutions for 2014; and today I put the finishing touches on my ones for 2015. I learned A LOT in 2014 about myself. Yeah it had its challenges and its low points but with that it had its high points and I made amazing memories that I will never forget. I wouldn't have had it any other way though because the more I think about it the more I just am happy that I made it through the hard times and had one heck of a year! I couldn't have done it without the support of my amazing friends and loving family! Sooo on to this fun post...my favorite things of 2014

Lets get started with my personal favorite thing to talk about like ever....CLOTHES

  • Bean boots: Holy cow I got these for Christmas last year and I totally fell in love with them. I found myself having to limit the times I wore them during the week. Pair those babies with a pair of JCrew socks are you are pretty much good to go for the day.
  • Over-sized T-shirts: OKAY you caught me I am a southern wannabe but I can honestly say that the majority of my summer was spent in over-sized shirts and Nike shorts and I have no shame about it. There are so many different brands and colors and you can monogram them and just they are so comfy!!!
  • LEGGINGS: This one is pretty self explanatory...#WhiteGirl

Okay songs. Well depending on my mood I can be listening to some hard core pop music and then switch over to some country and then hit up a little acoustic artists and then back to pop and then rap and alternative, I love music and really just depending on my mood decides the type of music I will listen to...but my top 5 favorite songs of 2014 are *drum roll*
  1. All Night by: Icona Pop
  2. I Lived by: One Republic
  3. American Kids by: Kenny Chesney
  4. Work by: Iggy
  5. On Top of The World by: Imagine Dragons

I find my own inspiration from others and this year I have many people to thank for this that don't even know I exist and some that live right in my own house!!

  • Sarah Belle: Golly gosh this girl does it all, from the sorority dream life to her amazing LA life. She is just seriously so empowering and makes me want to make my own dreams realities like how she has made hers. I watch her videos and follow her on Instagram and I just seriously can't thank her enough!!
  • Danielle (The Makeup By Danielle): SHE IS THE SAME AGE AS ME PEOPLE. Like what the heck how can a 16 year old be so genuine and kind and so confident I don't know but she has made a major impact on my daily life and seriously I know that we would be friends if we met, its so cool to see someone my age so successful on Youtube and she was for sure one of the people that inspired my to create Quirky & Classy
  • My Momma: Moms, what would we do without them? Seriously though so thankful for her. Not only does she make killer grilled cheeses but she gives really smart advice and even though I don't listen to her as much as I should I would be lost without her!

Okay ya girl loves her food & restaurants so heres my little nugget (chicken nuggets reference) about my favorite foods and places

  • Panera Mac & Cheese- oh lord heaven is that you?
  • Zaxbys Chicken Tenders- goodness gracious
  • MOES Southwest Grill- queso dip and burrito bowls does it get any better?
  • Chick-Fil-A Milkshakes- seriously key to my heart

Alright well I feel that I have pretty much summed up my year. I hope yall had the best holiday season full of cookies and friends and family and I am so excited for what 2015 has to offer me. Be expecting lots of fun stuff not only here on the blog but the Youtube and of course the Insta!!!
